Assists with design, development, implementation and teaching of clinical information and clinical support systems and related processes according to the standards of practice and policies/procedures. Facilitates the communication and translation of business, regulatory and information technology requirements within and among departments that interface with Patient Care areas.
Achieves Organizational goals for strategic initiatives related to automation and introduction of technology and process change in clinical settings.
Leads or participates in the creation of tools for the measurement and effectiveness of internal and external patient care processes. Researches industry trends with a focus on systems application, costs analysis and quality monitoring, service development and work engineering.
Leads/conducts business analysis of clinical operations / workflow where needed and assists with development of scope and specifications for software design.
Works closely with clinical and other departmental stakeholders to assess and manage and communicate the change that is a direct and indirect result of clinical informatics activities.
Leads or participates in the aggregation of data as it relates to Organizational quality initiatives set forth by local, state and federal agency requirements (QAPI, etc.). Works with Director of Clinical Informatics to provide support for Performance Improvement initiatives.
Works closely with the Education Department to create curriculum for computer software and hardware training that facilitates effective use of Clinical Information Systems by clinical staff.
Accomplishment of Performance Goals for Review Period
Consults with other departments and staff members to evaluate / collect ideas for process enhancements needed in the patient care delivery system.
Minimums: BSN or health-related Bachelor's Degree, 4 to 6 years experience in health care informatics or comparable.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the areas of education, research, business operations, information technology and process improvement.
Ability to use independent judgment; works effectively with little or no direction. Strong organizational and problem solving skills. Works well under stress with deadlines. Ability to handle a variety of complex projects simultaneously. Team leadership experience is desirable.
Knowledge of hospice or home health regulations preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and writing skills.
