Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience
Experience with creating and executing Master Data Management practices and policies including source identification, data collection, data transformation, normalization, rule administration, data quality, error detection and correction, data consolidation, data storage, data distribution, data classification, schema mapping, product codification, data enrichment, data security and data governance.
Seven to ten years of experience implementing large and complex database management systems
Experience architecting solution components in each of the following areas: business intelligence, ETL, data architecture, information architecture
Experience facilitating user sessions and gathering requirements
Experience designing logical and physical architectures for data warehousing solutions
Experience managing teams of senior technologists
Experience writing and executing unit and system test plans
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Job Description: Overview :
Knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, and data marts. Defines data and/or information architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization and applies accepted data content standards to technology projects. Provides the primary technical leadership on projects from design through implementation for the adherence to information architecture standards and governance practices. Responsible for documenting the data strategy and logical architecture for new implementations and enhancements to existing technology. Remains engaged with initiatives to ensure proper implementation of design.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall design of the enterprise data and/or information architecture and balances the need for access against security and performance requirements.
Performs quality assurance on the designs and development done by the various technical teams
Participates in the functional requirements gathering and functional design processes
Translates business requirements into a re-usable information architecture, which may include an enterprise data model, associated metamodel, common business vocabulary, ontologies and taxonomies to be used to achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio
Facilitates consistent data acquisition and access analysis and design, Database Management Systems optimization, archiving and recovery strategy, load strategy design and implementation, security and change management
Develops a metadata management and repository strategy
Ensures data assets are identified, stewarded and leveraged across the enterprise
Develops controls to ensure proper governance, security and quality of information assets
Collaborate with other technology team members to produce detailed designs, and to ensure data management solutions are effectively delivered within both the application, and infrastructure environments
Collaborate with IT Information Security to ensure solutions comply with Corporate Risk Management policies
Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations, First Niagara's Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements.
