Basic Functions of the Job

Work
with information systems/network engineers to assess the impact of
Information Assurance requirements and validate/document the
implementation of mandated Information Assurance controls.

Research and recommend Information Assurance architectures and
procedures, executing Information Assurance testing in mixed network
environments.

Generate and manage Information Assurance
certification and accreditation documentation.

Technical Performance Responsibility

Information Assurance technical support of
military tactical/non-tactical and Electronics Support Measures
suites.

Ability to identify conflicts between the need for
systems functionality and Information Assurance requirements.

Familiarity with information systems vulnerability scanning
tools, e.g., DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance,
Security Readiness Review Scripts, and the implementation of the

following network scanning tools:
  • DoD Information
Technology/DISA Security Checklists, and/or automated Vulnerability
Identification Tools

  • DISA MS Windows Gold Disk
  • eEye Retina or similar network vulnerability scanners
Proficient in the use and analysis of penetration testing tools.

Education/Experience

A.S.
or B.S. in Information Technology field with Information Assurance
Technician II/III experience and/or certifications in accordance with
DoD 8570.1M.

Military tactical/non-tactical LAN and/or law
enforcement informaton systems experience preferred.

Encryption, key management, patch management, Identification and
Authentication, auditing and monitoring, routers and systems/network
management.

Proficient in MS Windows and familiarity with
UNIX/Linus, Solaris, VMware, Real-Time Operating Systems, routers,
and embedded processor networking environments.

Familiarity with relational databases, e.g., MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle,
etc.

MS Batch and Perl Scripting a plus.

Supervision

Ability to interface
with clients and systems engineering personnel with limited
interaction with supervisor.

Travel

Infrequent overnight travel may be required.
