Provide maintenance and administration for corporate data and voice communication technologies in a Windows/LINUX/Macintosh environment. Maintain and support communications equipment by performing software upgrades of ethernet network equipment, PBX, and voicemail systems, including moves/adds/changes of phones, voicemail administration, mobile devices, video conferencing equipment, and other communication technologies. Support the physical fiber and copper cable plant by coordinating work with cable vendors, diagnosing cable plant issues and maintaining CAD documentation. First line responder to support requests assisting users with software and hardware problems.

  • First line responder to support requests assisting users with software and hardware problems.
  • Monitor network logs and activities to ensure high levels of on-line performance and reliability are obtained within the client/server environment. Perform upgrades and system maintenance on network equipment.
  • Participate in Perform escalations and triage to resolve service interruptions.
  • Participate and respond to after-hours on-call rotations.


  • Requirements
    Education / Experience:

  • BS in computer science and/or equivalent experience in a corporate IT environment.

    Required Skills / Competencies:

  • Knowledge of routers, firewalls, switches and related network equipment in a multi-protocol environment.
  • Knowledge of telephony systems, PBX's and voicemail systems.
  • Working knowledge of Personal Computer use and administration (software installation/configuration) required.
  • Ability to learn new applications and systems on the job required.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in a courteous, professional manner required.
  • Energetic, self-motivated with the ability to efficiently multi-task in an organized manner in a fast-paced environment with many demands and priorities required.

    Preferred Skills / Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others required.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Up to 8 hour /day on computer.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Walk around campus to visit clients.
  • Travel to other campuses as needed.
