Monitors, evaluates, and maintains automated security systems designed to protect automated assets of the Bank across multiple computing platforms - - mainframes, servers, personal computers, local area networks, and associated applications and control systems. Requires working knowledge of various automated security control systems, encryption, and message authentication. Performs evaluation of requirements, complex tactical planning and implementation of security system and encryption initiatives designed to protect information assets, operating system environment and communications environments to ensure integrity, reliability, and availability of automated information. Provides day-to-day guidance on complex security and key management initiatives to lower level security administrators.
Reviews work performed by lower level security administrators to determine level of compliance to Information Security Manual safeguards and Information Security policies, standards and procedures. Performs program product security evaluations and development of security standards for high risk program products and IT Services' initiatives. Contributes to System security task forces. Participates in Board examinations of other Reserve Banks. Participates in the accomplishment of departmental and/or Bankwide quality initiatives by being a department coordinator, team leader or team member. Performs job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of three to four years working experience in the information security field.
Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of security systems for various computing platforms; i.e. mainframe (ACF2, Topsecret, RACF), personal computers and local area networks.
General knowledge of programming and systems analysis and design techniques, and/or database and communication technologies.
General knowledge of hardware and environmental software interfaces.
Analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills.
Ability to understand, associate and perform complex technical duties in a timely and appropriate manner.
Ability to communicate with all levels of Bank management.
Ability to visually inspect and perform tasks which require reading of very fine print.
Typing ability to perform interactive tasks with a computer in a timely manner.
Ability to understand and follow written procedures.
