ASRC Primus also holds a nationwide contract for library and records management services with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. ASRC librarians, records managers and support staff collect, organize and maintain library and records materials; assist EPA and external customers with document delivery/ILL, reference and research services, etc.
Provide first line support at the circulation desk of the EPA records center. Provide information and document management services within records centers such as answering ready-reference questions regarding documents, assisting in use of bibliographic tools, answering routine inquires, referring persons requiring professional assistance to appropriate staff, shelving new and returned material in stacks, maintaining automated circulation system and circulation desk, greeting and assisting walk-in-visitors, researchers, and other patrons and overseeing the file/reading room, sorting and distributing mail to appropriate units, maintaining equipment and arranging for equipment repairs.
The Circulation Information Specialist also produces current awareness reports, bibliographies, responds to requests for information on documents from Agency staff, other government agencies, or the public, sorts and responds to incoming mail and telephone request in a timely, courteous and accurate manner, and prepares weekly and monthly reports.
A high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years experience working in a library or records management program is desired.
Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute along with proficiency with word processing equipment.
Excellent customer service/client interface skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job which include: full range of arm movement, e.g., lifting above the head, ability to do data entry for long periods of time, ability to sit for long periods of time, usage of step or regular ladders to reach higher shelves, ability to lift at least 40 pounds in weight on a near daily basis, pushing or pulling 160 pounds on a cart, and the abilities to bend, stoop, and kneel.
US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident status in order to pass a government sponsored background investigation
Ability to work in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively, patiently, and courteously with others.
