PROJECT SUMMARY:
Supplier/Subcontractor will provide services as outlined:
Provide formal testing services, from test plan creation to test case creation to providing formal testing reports for assigned applications

Run manual & automation tests for data-centric back-end, Client/Server & Web/XML applications

Elicit formal and informal requirements for assigned tasks; provide testing services based on said requirements Query and manipulate data using SQL in an Oracle relational database

Create automated tests using internal frameworks or other methods as directed

Demonstrate analytical and quantitative capabilities

Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills

Handle multiple concurrent projects with limited oversight

Represent QA with the project team and customers regarding business and technology needs related to requirements gathering and software testing

Manage work within scope of responsibility

Assist other members of the testing team

Suggest and implement improvements to the testing process

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION OF CANDIDATE NEEDED :
We are looking for an experienced tester able to independently test various applications within a complicated IT database (Oracle) system with multiple independent components. Applications tested could include Web, XML, thick-client, and back-end database applications.

The successful candidate is flexible and has the initiative to work well in a dynamic, agile environment. They can analyze formal specifications and design comprehensive test plans and test cases, covering both explicit and implicit requirements. Relational Database and SQL knowledge is needed to create, modify, and validate test data. Automation or scripting experience is a plus.

The candidate will also need to help improve both their own testing and the capabilities of the team.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
College Degree in computer science, management information systems or related field

4+ years of QA experience in software testing

US citizenship

Ability to pass DoD ADP II vetting

All work conducted on site, no telecommuting

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of tools

Application testing on the Windows platform - Client/Server, XML, Browser, and/or back end applications or systems

Working experience with RDBMSs (Oracle preferred) and demonstrated ability to write SQL statements to create, update, and validate data

Experience using issue tracking software such as Jira, BugZilla, or TestTrack Pro

Ability to use one or more scripting/programming languages to automate tasks (such as Visual Basic/VBA, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java)

Desired: Current experience with automated testing tools such as TestPartner, SilkTest, or Quick Test Pro; demonstrated experience independently creating test automation

Desired: Experience using version control systems such as CVS, SVN, VSS, or TFS

Individuals who qualify for and are selected for this position, and do not currently live in the area, must be willing to pay their own expenses to relocate.
