Responsible for the planning, analysis, design and implementation of business applications or process improvements. Assignments include identifying, analyzing and developing new systems; assisting in guiding business system practices, working on complex companywide system integration projects. Normally this position requires subject domain knowledge in one or more areas of finance, manufacturing, service, purchasing, and sales/order processing or data warehouses.
Measures of Success
Responsible for the support of one or more business knowledge domains: finance, manufacturing, service, purchasing, sales/order processing or data warehouses
Responsible for the analysis of business processes to determine and recommend system information solutions taking in consideration the business objectives and issues
Define and resolve system related issues, such as technical constraints, data conversion requirements and system interfaces. Effectively communicate changes and issues to business groups and functional areas.
Develop business cases to support Trimble business initiatives. Create project plans and timelines to ensure projects are completed within budget and within designated time parameters
Support the training, conversion, and implementation of business systems. Activities may include training development, training delivery, writing technical and user documentation, conversion and implementation coordination and tasks or other activities required for the success of a project
Research new technology in systems or application areas as the business requires and participates in the selection of software to meet business requirements. Participate in industry trade associations, technical working groups, etc.
Support and monitor projects with company wide impact and ensure systems align with long term business objectives
Directly interact with business areas. Coordinate and collect project meeting and status information. Ensures that issues or delays in the project are escalated to project team and management so that appropriate action may be taken
Act as the prime representative of the IS group for organizations requesting IS services
Develop and maintain business relationships with vendors. Negotiate contracts with outside firms and interact with Trimble legal staff
Present recommendations to management and others with the ability to influence change, negotiate and take action to accomplish plans. Take full responsibility for results produced
Provide team leadership and mentor other members of the IS staff in the business domains assigned
