Information Systems Security Engineer (Job Number: 316442)

SAIC has an opening for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) for a project based in Arlington, VA.

The ISSE serves as the focal point for the development of IA requirements, security solutions analysis and assessments. The ISSE produces and maintains all the certification documentation for multiple systems and networks in the early stages of the system development lifecycle (SDLC)

The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge and applied experience in the following activities:

1. Determines the appropriate levels of security commensurate with the network/system

2. Conducting IA requirements assessments and translating security controls into testable technical requirements and handling procedures

3. Develop concepts, strategies, security architectures and security plans for integrating and maintaining system security throughout the system development lifecycle with emphasis of the early development and testing, while providing an economical path for full system IA authorization to field systems to operational environments

4. Configure standard security system components (i.e. Operating Systems, Databases, Applications), and conducting security reviews to detect security weaknesses

5. Develop detailed Security Plans and Procedures for system certification and accreditation without supervision

6. Provide technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions to manage information-related risks in enterprise, R&D and tactical environments

Required Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical discipline is required

2. At least 3 years experience in continuous systems security engineering or Information Assurance tasks

3. Security+, CEH, CISSP-ISSEP or other DoD 8570 certifications

4. Active Top Secret Clearance (current within the last five years) required

5. Willing to travel, locally about 10% and within CONUS around 5% annually

6. Experience using DoD or IC IA policies and guidance (i.e. 8500.x, ICD 503, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, DITSCAP)

Desired Skills:
1. Implementing cryptographic solutions for protecting data in transit and data-at-rest, using FIPS/NSA standards

2. Implementing and/or maintaining cross-domain solutions for interconnections between system operating a different security domain levels

3. Experience conducting complex IA risk assessments using standards processes such as NIST SP800-30

4. Knowledgeable of DoD Acquisition and Systems Engineering processes

5. Experience implementing Anti-Tamper solutions using DoD processes
