This position will be responsible for developing/supporting critical Java web applications related to managing Caterpillar engine emissions data for regulatory certification. Candidate will be responsible for interacting with Engine Emissions business partners globally to architect and develop solutions to support Caterpillar's ongoing efforts to efficiently manage engine certification data. Candidate must be able to effectively work with a team of developers on site and offshore to understand and prioritize enhancement requests and deliver on constantly evolving business needs. Candidate will also be expected to use their experiences to coach and mentor less seasoned developers.
Information Technology Degree or equivalent
At least 5 years of Java web development experience using IBM RAD or Eclipse
Excellent technical abilities related to database architecture and SQL development in
Oracle / dB2
Excellent communication and presentation skills
In-depth experience with WebSphere / Tomcat
Excellent problem solving and complex analytical skills
Good interpersonal/teaming skills
Experience with Hibernate, Spring / Struts Framework
Experience with SOA and Webservices
Exceptional planning and organizational skills
Experience working across, and communicating to, all levels within the company
Strong business knowledge and ability to translate business needs into design documents and technical requirements
Knowledge of Engine Emissions Regulations Data Management
