Provides technical project coordination for large-scale Information Technology related projects through collaboration with key personnel, divisions and departments at all BCTC campuses. Coordinates projects and special assignments as needed. The IT Coordinator reports to the Director of Project Management, Data Analysis & Process Development division (PAD).


Provides project coordination including planning, scheduling, technical direction, documentation, reporting, and communication.


Consults with faculty and staff on projects involving technology and builds support relationships with the client population by attending division and department meetings.


Meets with academic and administrative clients and Information Technology staff to understand and achieve academic and administrative goals, assists with problem definitions and identifies technology based solutions.


Assists Project Manager to develop project plan documentation including Project Charters (PC), Statements Of Work (SOW), Business Case Analyses (BCA) and distributes updates and progress to all stakeholders.


Coordinates project execution with clients, IT staff, vendors, and other involved stakeholders through project completion and handoff to the client.


Assists with district-wide budgetary decisions based on understanding achieved through improved support relationships by providing outline of technical needs on behalf of divisions and departments.


Organizes and maintains technical support documentation within a content management system provided for departmental and college wide use, providing support personnel and key stakeholders a centralized location for knowledge transfer and self-healing opportunities.


Coordinates end-user training as necessary through improving client relationship and encouraging use of technology support and training provided by peers.


Participates in planning sessions and meets with key stakeholders to improve client support relationships, internal marketing of services to client population and clear communication channels.


Provides routine reports and presentations to Information Technology department personnel on project timeline progress and potential future projects.


Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology, or related field), and three years IT experience, or equivalent.


Problem Solving: Problems are different and unexpected. Suggests new solutions to the supervisor or others in handling unusual problems.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Functions in a lead capacity over others but is not a direct supervisor. May assign, schedule and monitor the work of others.

Oversight and Direction: Receives general direction working from established policies and objectives. Plans and carries out assignments and resolves most conflicts that arise.
