As an Information Technology Intern at Tocquigny, you will work with the IT and Technology teams gaining hands-on experience with the agency’s network infrastructure.
This candidate must be a junior, senior, or graduate student in CS, MIS, CIS or related field with emphasis in computer networking.
Help with administrating, planning, and moving technology pending an upcoming infrastructure move.
You’ll receive hands-on experience maintaining all computer, telephony, and data communications systems and software.
You will initiate a regimen of best practices as you support users in an agency environment.
Contribute to the overall performance of the agency’s infrastructure by helping migrate to a collocated MetroE environment.
Experience with Visio and Excel (or similar) to document and display logical connections among systems and account for IP addresses, host names, systems, and web services.
You will gain experience reconfiguring a variety of network appliances (including firewalls, wireless access points, managed switches, routers, etc.)
You will gain experience with both Windows and Mac clients in a mostly Windows server environment.
Learn how to administer Linux-based developer staging servers and version control systems.
You will be required to perform some heavy lifting (helping to place servers in racks, etc.)
This person’s schedule should be somewhat flexible. You may be required to come in on the weekend of the agency’s infrastructure move.
Be able to work approximately 12-15 hours per week.
You may be required to sign a privacy disclosure statement.
Will verify and complete documentation if course credit is desired for internship.
