DESCRIPTION

This individual will work under the supervision of Dr. Mann and be responsible for maintaining the image analysis pipeline software, computer server and clusters, data backup, and upgrade of computers and software, and general computer operations in the brain imaging laboratories of the Molecular Imaging and Neuropathology Division.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include:
1. Use programming in python, java, html, css, java script to maintain the in-house MRI processing package (mindburst), and periodically upgrade it with implementation of image processing algorithms within a standard processing pipeline
2. Maintain matlab based in-house PET processing Brain Analysis Toolbox (BAT) by troubleshooting routines and upgrading modules to serve evolving needs of the lab.
3. Ensure compatibility of the in-house PET modeling tool, BrainFit, with the new computer cluster (jjmcluster), and implement new algorithms in the toolbox as required.
4. Work directly with IT Manager to ensure proper interface between database, software, and IT network.
5. Maintain, upgrade, and improve implemented databases.
6. Design and implement new MySQL database tables to be filled and queried.
7. Maintain the DJANGO front end of MySQL database for quality control and ease of querying.
8. Quality control of MRI, PET, DTI, and fMRI data.
9. Test new algorithms for potential implementation.
10. Read current literature for improved image processing algorithms.
11. Contribute to statistical analyses, tables and figures for manuscripts and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. MS in Biomedical Engineering
2. Must be fluent in English
3. Excellent proficiency in python, java, html, css, and java programming
4. Experience, at least 2 years, in programming software for image analysis.
