The IT Support Analyst, Principal has primary responsibility for planning and implementing the IT needs of the Honors College, a unit that serves 4000 students with 25 staff, 8 interdisciplinary faculty, 7 adjunct lecturers and 9 student employees. This position researches and makes recommendations to the Dean for the purchase of equipment, software and hardware including servers, work stations and laptops. This position plans and deploys equipment in support of Honors teaching and programming and maintains the structure and functionality of the Honors College Drupal website. Other responsibilities include network security; data downloads and report preparation; and supervision of supporting IT Support Analyst position. Duties and Responsibilities
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
- Serves as the primary IT contact for the Honors College. * Reviews current and new network hardware and software options and makes recommendations for purchasing hardware, software and systems. * Maintains and supports IT network, servers and infrastructure for Honors College, including Windows domain infrastructure, MS SQL database and Umbutu LAMP stack. * Develops and manages the network data backup system and Disaster Recovery Procedures. * Serves as security officer for the College, maintains a secure computing environment and performs scans of institutional server and applications. * Establishes and implements systems guidelines, procedures and standards; maintains records and inventory of computing equipment. * Provides support for IT users; maintains the readiness of Window, Macintosh and iDevice clients; and troubleshoots hardware and software systems. Assists staff and students with software package applications and programs and audio visual needs. * Maintains structure and functionality for the College's Drupal website; assists Honors staff in updating content. * Responsible for the readiness and availability of student computer lab. * Uses UAccess Analytics to perform queries/downloads of University data, prepares periodic statistical reports on student data and other periodic or special reports. * Supervise IT Support System Analyst.
Six years of progressive information technology experience in area of assignment which may include systems administration, network systems administration, applications design/development, database design/development or administration, web site design/development/administration, business analysis and/or workstation/end user support; OR, Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field AND five years of progressive information technology experience in area of assignment which may include systems administration, network systems administration, applications design/development, database design/development or administration, web site design/development/administration, business analysis and/or workstation/end user support; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Additional Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of Windows operating system (server and desktop) primarily in the areas of File and Print Sharing, Networking, Workgroups and Domain, and Security. * Knowledge of Windows Active Directory. * Knowledge of MS SQL server. * Knowledge of OS X and Linux (Ubuntu preferred). * Knowledge of LAN and TCP/IP concepts including firewalls and VPN. * Good communication skills (both verbal and written).
Pre-employment Screening Requirements
- Knowledge of PC and Macintosh hardware and peripherals including troubleshooting and installation. * Experience with Drupal CMS. * Experience with computer imaging. * Experience with common office productivity suites. * Strong problem solving and organizational skills. * Experience working in a University or educational environment.
