Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI) is the technology infrastructure organization for the Firm, delivering a wide range of products and services, and partnering with all lines of business to provide high quality service delivery, exceptional project execution and financially disciplined approaches and processes in the most cost effective manner. The objective of GTI is to balance both business alignment and the centralized delivery of core products and services. GTI is designed to address the unique infrastructure needs of specific lines of business and the demand to leverage economies of scale across the Firm.
GTI Compute is responsible for managing the Firm's global compute infrastructure portfolio across the plan, build and operate functions. The organization is transforming from a component orientated organization to a service based one. GTI Compute provides Managed Services for JPMC and drives product management, engineering standards and productivity initiatives in support of these services.
The Solution Architecture team within GTI Compute mission is to drive standard and cost effective end-to-end technology solutions based on the Firm’s businesses, application’s and infrastructure partner’s current and future requirements. With a key focus on the construction of consumable bundles which will be leveraged across the Firm to support both current applications and next generation applications. This will enable the evolution from a technology enabled infrastructure to a cloud and application enabled environment.
The Infrastructure Solutions Architect (ISA) role is a key fundamental role within the Solutions Architecture team. The ISA will report to the Solutions Architect lead for the Consumer Businesses within the GTI Compute Solutions Architecture team. The ISA will work closely with key Line of Business and other technical teams in understanding requirements to enable you to develop cost effective and appropriate solutions that conform to the Firms standards to meet these requirements.
The ISA is accountable for the development of cost effective end to end technical solutions, and is the single design authority for the prescribed solution. Working in partnership with the technical towers, external vendors and project management team as required.
The ISA will be aligned with one of the Firms key business areas and will work closely with the Solutions Architect for that business as well as others as required, providing broad technical expertise to assist the AD teams in the business in meeting their tactical and strategic goals.
Key areas of responsibility:
Development of key technical solutions that meet the business requirements and follow the prescribed standard of the department and the Firm
Work in partnership with the Solution Architect, with the ability to deputize as required
New Product Development :
manage the lifecycle of new products from research through deployment to divestiture, including recovery methodologies, support models and product management guidelines working in partnership with the Compute Service and engineering teams, as well as the GTI Compute Cloud Development team
Drive the development and adoption of new technology to meet business needs
Drive project scoping, acceptance and resourcing and work with the GTI PMO on project initiation and prioritization
Minimum 15+ years related business experience and a successful track record of leadership across a wide range of technology including but not limited to:
Distributed Technologies in key areas of
Core PaaS and IaaS technologies
A working knowledge of network design
Knowledge of IBM mainframe technologies would be advantageous
Minimum 10+ years in demonstrated ability to translate highly technical capability to business leaders to gain understanding and conceptualize business value
Minimum 5+ years in strong strategic orientations, with demonstrated ability of having put IT within a business context
Deep understanding of Infrastructure Technology
Knowledge of SDLC and Application Development would be beneficial
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong documentation and communication skills
Excellent people skills in matrix managing a diverse technology work force
Financial Services Industry experience preferred
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with an IT focus
