Printpack, Inc. a manufacturer of printed flexible packaging materials, is looking to fill the position of Ink Technician at it's Fredericksburg, VA facility. This position will be a second shift position working from 3 pm to 11 pm Monday through Friday after the initial training period is complete.
Responsibilities: Make, formulate, tone and rework ink. Receive raw materials and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Provide a continuous supply of on-color inks and varnish to the production process in a timely manner. Comply with the EPA requirements through documentation and waste management.
§ Read and establish a priority job schedule to supply the press with proper quality, on color ink and ready-make varnish to maintain production schedule.
§ Document current ink and solvent usage to comply with EPA and accounting requirements.
§ Verify the receipt of raw materials against Bill of Lading and place into inventory.
§ Proper management and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste through identification of products, labeling (either verify or originate) according to EPA regulations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS REQUIRED
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must be able to pass color blindness test and distinguish between fine variations in color.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
Ability to work weekends and OT as necessary
Must understand and read basic instructions in English
Must be able to lift 25 to 50 lbs.
Basic Math skills
Prolonged Standing is part of the normal routine
Computer experience; ability to use standard office software
Ability to communicate at all levels of the plant
Capable of making decisions
Ability to use basic office equipment
Ability to read, understand and revise manufacturing instructions in English
Understand and interpret specifications and apply them to job
Effective communication skills
