Couchbase is looking for an experienced Inside Sales Manager who is looking for the chance to help a pre-IPO startup trigger explosive growth. You will start by managing a small team of inside sales people calling on SMB corporations in response to leads generated by a high performance, automated lead generation system. Next you will shift the focus of telesales to outbound by hiring, training, coaching and managing hunters because you are a hunter. Expect to triple the size of your inside sales team in the first 12 months.
∙ The Inside Sales Manager has overall responsibility for the effectiveness of the Inside Sales Team in hitting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals.
∙ Insures that forecasts are on-time and accurate
∙ Works with sales management to insure that sales systems, processes and resources minimize non-selling time and enable maximum face time with decision makers
∙ Stakeholder in the process of developing sales plans and cost of sales and staffing plans on an annual basis
∙ This position reports to the VP of Global Business Development and Sales.
∙ 5 + years in a similar position.
∙ Both large company experience and startup experience highly desirable.
∙ Managed sales teams that sold software, technology or SaaS is required.
∙ Contributed to the design and administration of compensation plans for quota carrying sales teams
∙ Previous experience hiring, training, inspecting, coaching and motivating sales people to grow an Inside Sales Team highly desirable.
∙ Strong interpersonal skills that promote the emotional and motivational components of sales person psychology: vision, task and goal orientation, desire for recognition, appetite for growing economic success
∙ Deep understanding of sales processes, funnel management, forecasting.
∙ Use of SalesForce.com and Xactly or similar CRM and compensation apps is required
∙ Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills in written and verbal form needed.
∙ Must be able to work on multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision
∙ Understands the typical technology and information interfaces with other parts of the company such as IT, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing.
∙ Microsoft Office suite competent
∙ GoToMeeting or similar web conference application competent
