The position is with Specialty Products, within Danaher Sensors and Controls (
). Danaher Sensors and Controls manufactures and markets products that sense, measure and control temperature, position, quantity, time, level and flow in the Process Automation and Factory Automation Markets. The Specialty Products business unit generates approximately $100m in revenue combined with significant operating profit. With two locations; Elizabethtown NC (approximately 60 minutes from Wilmington NC suburbs) and Farmington CT (approximately 20 minutes from Hartford, CT), the business unit has more than 350 associates performing marketing, sales, product development, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain management, human resources, finance and customer service activities. The business is comprised of a variety of product lines under industry recognized brand names including Veeder Root, Eagle Signal, Namco, Dolan Jenner, Joslyn Clark, Superior Electric, Thomson, Hecon, and Partlow. The markets served include electronic timers and counters, mechanical times and counters, voltage control components, variable transformers, thermoplastic bearings, safety light curtains, proximity sensors, fire pump controllers, limit switches and chart recorders.
The Inside Sales Associate reports to the Inside Sales Manager for Specialty Products and is focused on maintaining relationships with existing customers, prospecting for new customers, and supporting outside sales. Growth will be achieved through building sales with existing customers and finding new customers in key markets.
The Inside Sales Associate will be responsible for accomplishing the following key priorities:
- Achieve daily outbound call requirements
- Achieve daily outbound phone time requirements
- Growth customer bookings by 7% over previous year’s sales
- Own all dimensions of the customer relationship with the assigned customer list
- Prospect for new customers and work on regaining lost customers
- Work with contracted Manufacturing Reps to provide leads, quotes, and monthly commission reports
- Contribute to the sales funnel and execute sales on the open quotes – track and maintain opportunities in SFDC
- Achieve defined targets in sales and profits in assigned market
- Regular participation in sales meetings, industry exhibitions, workshops and other customer and market related activities
- VOC (voice of the customer) calls on a regular basis, in co-operation with our marketing department
BS in Business or related field preferred
Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, from the maintenance personnel to the executive leadership.
Experience in sales both direct OEM, End User, and through Distribution
Ability to value sell, while also becoming knowledgeable of the products that are being sold
Driven to excel by proactively exceeding daily KPIs, finding new business and growing the sales funnel
Ability to work and communicate across different cultures and language barriers – specifically into emerging international markets
Innate focus on continuous improvement
Ability to excel in a growth-oriented, fast-paced, dynamic environment, transitioning from an operationally focused to a commercially focused organization.
