Inspector – Complex Bridges

Reporting to Senior Inspectors and Construction Leads, performs both intermediate and complex bridge inspection tasks. The ideal candidate is experienced in the construction of post-tensioned concrete box girder / steel girder bridges which utilize conventional falsework, precast segmental and cast-in-place segmental construction. Experience in the development and execution of a first order survey operation for erection of post tensioned concrete / steel girder complex bridges is desired. Experience with post-tensioned concrete, steel girder construction, mass concrete, drilled shafts and deep foundations are desired. Experience with cable supported bridge construction would be an asset. Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Documents nonconformance and participates in determining appropriate resolution. Willingness to travel and/or to relocate to field sites is expected.
2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required.
5+ years of related experience on heavy construction projects required
3+ years of related experience on complex bridges utilizing steel girders, post tensioned concrete, mass concrete and drilled shaft foundations is desired.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and construction specifications, be totally familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment, and have the potential to perform in a lead capacity.
