This is a part-time position (27 1/2 hrs/wk) located at the Administration Building in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to perform specific duties in support of the Institutional Advancement Manager, which involves all fund-raising functions associated with the college and the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation. Candidate must be a detail oriented, team player and possess exceptional organizational, computer, written and oral communication skills. Candidate may perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature. A sincere commitment to Iowa Lakes Community College and its students as well as our communities is a necessity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES / % of TIME
Facilitate and utilize volunteers to organize and host a variety of events (scholarship fundraising, receptions, donor contacts, campaigns, etc.)
Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with various clients of the Institutional Advancement Office including individuals and businesses in our communities.
Compile and develop annual and periodic reports, graphs, charts and power point presentations as requested by Supervisor.
Ability to utilize foundation office software systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
Cultivate new and steward existing event sponsors and participants.
Maintain budget of event and organize and follow-through with all details on special activities and fund-raising events which include attending occasional evening meetings and weekend events.
Collaborate with Marketing Department to create event materials and identify promotional items for events.
Promote events through effective use of Social Media.
Attend meetings for special events as well as serve on selected committees as requested by Supervisor (may involve some evenings and weekends).
Develop a fundamental knowledge of gift processing and fund-raising language.
Analyze data to assess and identify opportunities to strengthen event outcomes.
Assist in developing short and long-term planning for the Institutional Advancement Office.
Partner with other departments within the college on specific projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time; exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work and repetitive motion constantly (67-100%). Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license, good driving record, and provide proof of insurance.
Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check.

A Bachelor’s Degree preferred, experience in public relations, customer service, working with volunteers and/or event planning preferred. Sound understanding of basic accounting principles; background or experience in Business/Sales/Marketing is helpful.
