Provide instructional design work on assignment with projects in the academic colleges
-Minimum of three years of instructional design experience, preferably in higher education with an emphasis on design for online and alternate delivery methods.
-Experience training in the use of instructional technologies and design methods, including one or more learning management systems; ability to convey complex technical information to nontechnical users.
-Ability to work proactively on teaching and learning problems of diverse scope
-Demonstrated successful course design, development, implementation and evaluation with a variety of instructional products.
-Understanding of adult learning theory, distance learning, web-based training, synchronous and asynchronous learning and best practices in eLearning.
-Working knowledge of skills, tools, and processes used in the development and delivery of web-based training / e-Learning.
-Independent action: need to be able to take actions independently in conjunction with understanding the strategies, goals, financial constraints, etc. of institutional stakeholders.
-Working experience with the design, preparation and documentation of work plans and design documents. Ability to see the big picture and report progress accordingly.
-Working knowledge of quality assurance practices in online higher education environments.
-Maintain confidentiality of sensitive organization topics and issues as well as maintain learner privacy.
Experience with the Desire2Learn learning environment.
Experience with the Adobe Connect desktop conferencing environment.
Experience with the Quality Matters quality assurance program for online courses
Prior work in whole program re-design projects (e.g. moving a traditionally face-to-face program online)
