Position Overview :
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and delivering quality instructional and training materials to support student learning. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude toward their work, the mission of the institution, continuous learning, collaboration, and providing quality service.
Essential Function :
Assist the Director of Educational Technology in the development and delivery of a robust, ongoing program of faculty professional development and new faculty orientation, for the onsite, online and blended/hybrid learning environments.
Help incorporate innovative methods of content delivery in the online and onsite environments using appropriate technologies.
Assist faculty with the selection of instructional strategies, development and review of course/lesson objectives, and design of course content and assessments.
Support faculty, staff, and administration in maintaining expertise in instructional techniques and technologies through research, evaluation, training, and development of instructional materials
Maintain current and relevant knowledge of instructional design theory, pedagogy, andragogy, and assessment methods.
Analyze and evaluate new instructional tools and technologies and recommend appropriate tools and approaches to improve course design.
Assist with the administration and training support for the Learning Management System.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Curriculum Development or related field. Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
Experience with learning management systems
Experience teaching at the college level is a plus
Experience teaching online or hybrid courses is a plus
Demonstrated understanding of online pedagogy, course design, and technology
Experience working with Web 2.0 tools
Experience with creating audio and video presentations desired
Demonstrated excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment with individuals from different disciplinary backgrounds and varying levels of technological experience
Annual Salary : $44,000
