Rollins College has been recognized in The Chronicle of Higher Education's Great Colleges to Work For 2011 rankings. Classified as a medium-sized (3,000 to 9,999 students) four-year institution, Rollins was the only Florida institution of its type to earn the Honor Roll (top 10) distinction. The Chronicle's Great Colleges to Work For program administers satisfaction surveys to faculty, staff, and administrators, and recognizes colleges for achieving high employee satisfaction in up to 12 'great academic workplace' core attribute categories, such as compensation and benefits, teaching environment, and confidence in senior leadership. As an Honor Roll institution, Rollins was recognized for being one of the top-cited colleges across all categories, achieving its highest marks in five survey categories: supervisor/department chair relationship; job satisfaction; professional/career-development programs; facilities, workspace, and security; and work/life balance. Rollins ranks 8th best in the Orlando Sentinel's 2011 Top 100 Companies for Working Families annual competition. Compiled by the Orlando Sentinel and published in the newspaper's Florida magazine special section, the Top 100 list honors the local companies who are most committed to family-friendly benefits. Through its mission, Rollins College is firmly committed to creating a just community that embraces multiculturalism; persons from historically under-represented minority groups are therefore encouraged to apply.
