Job Summary: Interacts with subject matter experts, including technical, operations, project managers, and line of business representatives to develop, write, and produce procedure documentation in the e-manual system. This position provides the process of document development with a focus on maintaining existing materials and creating new materials.

Essential Functions:
  • Performs all document development tasks, as directed, including:
    • Conduct interviews to gather information needed to develop documentation as assigned
    • Analyze gathered information, organize it into useful groupings, prepare the outline, and write the text
    • Applies department writing and formatting standards consistently from manual to manual
    • Assist in all aspects of document production and distribution, such as, library maintenance, updates, master preparation, assembly instruction preparation, as well as document assembly, packaging, and distribution, as needed.
  • Maintains and updates existing documents, including:
    • Keep abreast of system changes and determine where changes affect the manuals
    • Make changes to existing manuals
    • Help coordinate distribution of updates
  • Create new manuals
  • Participate on project teams
  • Perform any other job related instructions as requested, with reasonable accommodation

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate Degree is preferred; or a Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Writing is preferred
Experience:
  • One year of experience applying instructional communication principles is preferred
  • Previous experience writing departmental processes and procedures is preferred
Certification:
  • None
Technical Skills:
  • Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point is required
  • Intermediate proficiency level with Share Point is required
  • Graphics development tools is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability in original writing and document organization skills
  • Instructional design preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Attention to detail and documentation
  • Ability to leading discussions
  • Self motivated, self directed
  • Understanding of manage care members, providers, claims and appeals processes
  • Proper grammar usage is essential to this position
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Good organizing skills

Educational Requirements
