Under general supervision demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques. Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements. Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the mathematics field. Follows approved curriculum standards and course syllabi. Monitor’s student use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student. Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans. Attends meetings as required. Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations. Assists with student recruitment and job placement. Serves on committees. Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and accreditation standards. Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
Minimum Training & Experience: Master’s Degree in Mathematics or at least 18 graduate hours in Math from a regionally accredited institution. Three years paid work experience infield in the last seven years. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to work flexible hours when necessary. Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential for or related to the field or position. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree and at least 18 graduate hours in Math will also be considered if currently enrolled in a Master’s program with a scheduled completion date within two years of hire.
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate Degree in Mathematics from a regionally accredited institution. A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in the field or related field within the past seven (7) years. At least one (1) year of teaching experience in a secondary or postsecondary education program (or related training experience) within the past three (3) years. Experience in an Academic setting. Experience with the Banner Student Information System and Angel Online Management System.
