Education Required:Masters DegreeExperience Required:1 - 2 YearsRelocation Provided:Job DescriptionINSTRUCTOR, BIOLOGY REPOST***Out = Position will be offered to internal or external applicantsCLOSING DATE : August 19, 2011JOB SUMMARY :Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, to teach traditional lecture/lab courses in Biology (may also teach other Natural Sciences courses, depending on academic qualifications and need). Related duties include curriculum development; student advising; maintenance of laboratories; active participation in departmental, divisional, and MATC- and WTCS-wide activities to promote teaching and learning; participation in grant-related activities; and other duties as assigned.Qualifications1. Must have a Master’s degree in Biology; Ph.D. is preferred.

2. Must be prepared to work one-on-one with students in the classroom and traditional laboratory environments. 3. Must be academically prepared to teach Biology.4.

Must have at least two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience.5. Must have at least one (1) year (2,000 hours) of full-time, non-teaching, occupational experience.6. Experience with innovative delivery strategies in instruction of Biology, including alternative delivery courses (i.e., Internet) and course management systems (i.e., BlackBoard), is preferred. 7.

Coursework in education slated to the delivery of Biology instruction is preferred.8. Knowledge of assessment of student academic achievement techniques is preferred.9. Experience in proposal development and grant writing is desirable.10. Must meet Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) instructor certification requirements.11.

Must have academic background and/or experience in the teaching of marginally prepared students.12. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and students through both oral and written means.13. Must be able to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social, and educational backgrounds.14. Must meet State of Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) instruction certification requirements.

Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology4. Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (eg. social networking applications)5. (Optional) Distance Learning Instruction - Experience with on-line, two-way video, ITV, and other methods of distance learning instructionSALARY :Salary is based upon education and experience.
