Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Music – Saxophone
(Rank Depending on Candidate’s Qualifications)

RESPONSIBILITIES : Teacher and performer of saxophone. Assist in recruiting and retaining excellent saxophone students. Primary responsibility in applied saxophone. Other duties and teaching assigned according to program needs and the experience and expertise of the successful candidate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : For Instructor Rank: Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in saxophone. For Visiting Assistant Professor Rank: Doctorate or ABD in saxophone. For Both Ranks: Demonstrated excellence as a performer and teacher of saxophone.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Ability to teach in one or more secondary areas. The ideal candidate is an excellent and innovative teacher and performer who committed to pursuing an active performance/creative/research and service agenda at the local, regional, and national levels.

APPOINTMENT : Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor (Rank Depending on Successful Candidate’s Qualifications). Full-time, 9-month appointment, effective August 12, 2013. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Working Conditions
The Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor will teach in a typical classroom environment or an internet based environment. Travel to a regional campuses or off-site location may be required.
