Perform Instrumentation Engineering (IE) and analysis for weapons system testing at Explosives Experimental Area (EEA) and Potomac River Test Range (PRTR). The field IE will be an integral part of the testing team responsible for collecting, validating, and delivering test data to the Test Engineer (TE) in a timely manner and in accordance with the test plan. Data collection requires hands-on work in the field. The IE will work with other engineers to identify test issues and improve the technical product. Provide technical support in the planning, setup, execution and data analysis for all testing being conducted.
Must have active Secret Clearance.
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics.
Mimimum of 5 years experience.
Knowledge of Windows Operating System including MS Office Software Programs. Knowledge of performing data analysis using Matlab. Configure, understand and implement a wide range of instrumentation including, but not limited to accelerometers, pressure gauges, strain gauges, high-speed cameras, and thermocouples. Ability to prepare test plans and reports. Ability to work in a high tempo fast paced team environment, to solve problems and identify deficiencies associated with instrumentation support, and to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences. Knowledge of and the ability to apply, test and evaluation principles and techniques.
