Advertised Summary Job Description

This position will perform clerical duties in Columbia Health Administration, dividing his/her time between the Insurance and Immunization Office and Communications. As needed, he/she will also assist with Business Office and other administrative duties. General responsibilities include: providing clerical support; ordering and tracking purchases of supplies, materials and equipment; data entry into spreadsheets and University systems; retrieving and distributing phone and e-mail messages; sorting and distributing mail; packing and delivering packages and materials within campus; scheduling meetings and appointments and preparing related materials; filing and copying. Insurance and Immunization specific responsibilities include: providing insurance and immunization information to students; researching claims and investigating insurance issues; communicating with students, parents and staff; preparing basic statistical reports relevant to insurance issues. Communications specific responsibilities include reviewing Web-based and print materials and updating content as directed.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

High school diploma or equivalent, minimum 2 years' experience in a health care or customer service environment, able to coordinate multiple tasks and work with employees in different positions, strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office software. Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and complete assignments during busy periods. Sensitivity to confidential information is necessary. Preferred knowledge and experience include: student health insurance programs, premiums and benefits; NYS immunization requirements; medical terminology; Web content management systems, especially Drupal; Mac hardware and applications.
