The basic purpose of this position is to analyze, process, and interpret numerous and varied requests from employers and participants for multiple medical, life, disability, and dental products.
  • Provide quality customer service to participants/account administrators on the phone, in person, or through email while serving as the liaison between the employer/employee vendors
  • Effectively communicate and interpret policies/products and plan/product changes, in writing, to employers and plan participants
  • Establish and maintain participant and employer information and eligibility according to policy and government regulations
  • Identify procedure guidelines and use basic decision making skills related to the preparation and processing of monthly billing statements, listings, incoming correspondence and work requests
  • Initiate and implement solutions to work processes by analyzing problems and determining appropriate corrective action, while utilizing the latest technology
  • Serve as a daily resource for billing and eligibility questions and as a back up in times of increased call volume for the Customer Care Center
  • Coordinate and facilitate notifications, materials, distributions, special enrollment periods and rate renewal
  • Work with marketing, state reps, and state office contacts to communicate eligibility guidelines, plan provisions and changes
  • Handle irate calls that are received directly or forwarded from our Marketing and Customer Care Center
  • Assist with new and existing accounts. Travel as needed to train administrators, assist with enrollment meetings and foster a stronger business relationship with employers and participants
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Overtime as required

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field, preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of standard software applications: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and GuideStone system applications
  • Accurate keyboarding skills
  • Insurance and customer service experience
  • Research/audit experience
  • Ability to interpret policies of indemnity medical, HMO, life/accident, disability, dental plans and state and federal regulations
  • Ability to work independently with focus on initiative and leadership
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Research and problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters
  • Highly adaptable to changing priorities, responsibilities and projects
  • Math aptitude for calculation of premiums, billing reconciliations, audits and resolution of money
  • Accurate 10 key calculator skills
  • Travel up to 1-2% annually
