INSURANCE BILLING ASSISTANT NEEDED

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced medical biller to join our insurance billing team.
The ideal candidate will possess great people skills, a professional phone demeanor, will be very articulate, self-confident and dependable, as well as a team player. Multi-tasking, efficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, and knowledge of the industry is required. Position requires you to work directly with multiple clients and insurance companies. You must be able to function in a team-oriented environment, display strong investigative and organizational skills, pay high attention to detail with consistent follow through, and be able to productively manage high volumes of work. Minimum 3 years medical billing experience in a physician office or third party billing company.
Hours are 9:00am-5:00pm, Mon - Fri, no telecommuting.
Manage billing by all billers, including all health information department duties, as well as manage the individuals workload.
Coordinate all communications with SARC coordinators regarding insurance status, includes all follow up requests for updates.
Health Information Management of all HIPAA, Privacy and Insurance documents for all families. Email and call to create/build insurance files. Answer all insurance questions for families and respond to all emails from parents.
Written requests of insurance for verification of services. Fax, call toll-free numbers for verbal only, follow up letters.
Manage contracts with insurance companies, including PPN (preferred providers network, formerly PTPN).
Respond to insurance letters requesting clinical notes/progress reports. Follow up on those as well, separately Kaiser 3, 6 mos. evaluations submit diagnosis and medical records.
Credential all therapists (speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, BCBAs, LCSWs) Keep CAQH up to date on all therapists as well as submit NPIs and Liability Insurance applications.
Take all calls, answer all voicemails, as well as the general voicemail box which I receive, forward to appropriate therapists and personnel (receptionist duties).
Must have knowledge and experience of the general overall billing process. This includes but is not limited to understanding remittances, denials, ICD-9 & CPT-4 codes; write-offs, payer contracts & EOB's. Must have experience with EDI and ERA posting. Familiarity with commercial insurances, private carriers, HMO's, Medicaid and Medicare is required.

- Requires Microsoft Office and medical billing software experience; MacPractice experience preferred.
