Transamerica Life Protection (LP) division provides operations, information technology, legal, marketing, and finance support to internal agents and independent producers who market the companies life insurance, health insurance, long-term care insurance, marketing services, and investment products. Assists with the preparation and analysis of financial and expense reporting; responsible for account maintenance and posting and reviewing monthly journal entries; works with the BE system, developing an in-depth knowledge of the allocation process for actual expenses and allowables; responsible for the calculation of monthly/quarterly chargebacks; responsible for the preparation of quarterly allowable and expense reporting data; responsible for the preparation of monthly accounting reconciliations and SOX documentation and research and adjustment for any unusual items; provides expense support to Operations Business partners; assists in the quarterly close and annual budgeting process as needed; provides project support as needed.
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting; minimum 1-2 years experience in the insurance and/or financial services industry and/or accounting experience; experience with IT expense allocations; ability to work independently, with minimal direction; proven experience utilizing exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; proven experience interacting effectively with senior management; proven experience utilizing exceptional planning/organizational skills and techniques and effectively managing multiple priorities; proven experience utilizing exceptional analysis and problem solving skills; proven ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment and meet special deadlines; advanced PC Skills (Microsoft Office Excel, Access, etc.). Knowledge of insurance and financial services business processes, terminology and products and knowledge of divisional products and distribution markets preferred.
