Northern Illinois University, under a contract with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS), is seeking applicants for a full time Clinical Screener position with the Integrated Assessment Program, in the IDCFS Cook and Northern Regions of Illinois. The position involves conducting clinical screenings and interviews with children (birth to 18 years of age), their birth parents, foster parents, and other significant adults in the life of the child.

Candidates must successfully complete training with IDCFS. The position requires considerable regional travel. Employees in this position do not report to the NIU campus on a daily basis, rather a regional field office will be designated at one of the IDCFS sites within northern Illinois.

REQUIRED SKILLS Minimum education and work experience include: licensed clinical psychologist, LCSW, LCPC, or certified school psychologist, other state licenses (ie., LCPC) will be considered on an individual basis. Three years of clinical experience working directly with children and families in mental health services is required and child welfare experience is preferred. Experience conducting developmental screenings with infants and children up to age 5 is desirable. Required skills include: excellent organization, administrative, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work as a team as well as independently; attention to detail; and MS Office literacy.

PREFERRED SKILLS Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
