Project Engineer / Integrated Product Team Lead

Lead a product development team responsible for designing and delivering to production of a next generation actuation system for fighter aircraft.

The Challenge In anticipation of a program award, Moog is seeking a motivated individual to lead an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to design, develop and qualify Primary Flight Controls and Actuation Systems for Military Aircraft. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college or university

• Minimum 10 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the proficiency levels required for effective project engineer-related responsibilities including leading multi-disciplined technical personnel involved in the design and development of complex systems

• Vision to set engineering strategy for technical execution of product development within IPT product ownership with emphasis on electronics, software, actuation and systems engineering, technical integrity, high reliability and low-cost

• Demonstrated leadership, exceptional communication skills, planning and fiscal management

• Extensive experience with EVMS, resource allocation and planning

• Experience identify program risks and develop mitigation plans

• Highly skilled providing technical briefing to internal/external customers and company leadership Additional Qualifications

• Strong background with aircraft and development/integration of products within an IPT environment

Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Development experience in all aspects of integrated actuation systems (system architecture, mechanical actuation, electronics, software, verification, qualification and test) Manage the Technical baseline Resolve cross discipline technical issues within a single development program

Business Cost and schedule responsibility for the development program Weekly Program Review Board participation to report technical, cost, and schedule progress (metrics) Work with the Program Manager to create and maintain development plans and schedules Track record of meeting non-recurring cost targets and design to cost targets within a single development program Excellent presentation and communication skills Ability to explain complex concepts and issues to a non-technical audience Represent and sell company position to the customer

Leadership Lead a multi-site, multi-national, multi-disciplined development team including Project Engineers and Technical Staff Mentoring/training of development team leads Application of process improvements within a single development program Reports to Director of Engineering – Program Execution
