We have an exciting, unique opportunity for an internship in our Legal Department located in Morristown, NJ. In this role you will interact with the Legal Team including senior executives and attorney leads spanning the Legal Department. Become part of a talented team, building real-life experience and business skills while gaining exposure to the dynamic pharmaceutical industry. The Intellectual Property Internwill support on-going projects in alignment with the 2013 Legal Department objectives.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about his /her work, will enjoy working closely with other members of the organization to contribute to the success of Capsugel, will utilize technology resources productively, and will be able to work on a wide range of tasks.
2013 initiatives include, but are not limited to:
Review of freedom to operate (FTO) and patentability searches in support of Research and Development and Legal/intellectual property matters
Update of management documents and summaries of intellectual property holdings (such as legal assignments, patents, and trademarks)
Review of related technical literature, patents, patent applications and other publications as interest/ability dictates
Qualified candidates must have the following skills and attributes:
Must be a minimum of a rising junior studying Law, preferable concentration in Intellectual Property.
A thinker with solid analytical skills, high-energy, and can-do attitude
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written and a strong command of the English language.
Ability to work independently and coordinate projects
Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities simultaneously and take responsibilities seriously
Excellent presentation and prioritization skills; some experience presenting to senior leaders (or professors)
High level of professionalism to interact with internal clients and external parties
Must have a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
Ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with confidential matters
Willingness to learn new skills
Strong attention to detail
Local candidates preferred (< 1 hour commute)
This is a paid 10 week internship. It is expected that the candidate would work full time from beginning May 29th.
