UCLA is currently seeking a talented, bright and motivated Interior Architectural Designer who will be assigned to assist the Interior Designer, Architects, and Construction Managers assigned to new construction, renovations, modifications, and repairs of facilities that are under the management of Housing & Hospitality Services (H&HS). Assist with selection of color palette and materials for building finishes, furnishings, and fixtures. Assist with design presentations including color boards, CAD drawings, and 3-D renderings. Coordinate construction phase documents including RFIs and submittals. Other duties include assisting with preliminary project design, computer modeling, construction documents preparation, project management, monitoring construction and consultant activities, and acting as liaison between H&HS Departments and other University Departments.
Minimum of three years professional experience in design and building industry in private practice, corporate and/or institutional settings, preferably with universities, colleges, or school systems.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited professional program in Architectural Design, Environmental Design, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of construction management industry standards and practices, safety standards, and codes to construct facilities and manage projects
Skill in working independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated success in working in collaborative style, in following through with tasks with minimal supervision, and in promoting a high degree of professionalism in meeting assigned responsibilities.
Skill in using AutoCAD, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Form Z, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Project Scheduling.
Ability to stand, climb, stoop, push, pull, and crouch for an extended period of time and to lift items weighing up to 35 pounds as required when reviewing project assignments.
