EYP is seeking an Interior Designer in our Washington, DC office location. This role will be responsible for planning and conducting interior design work including participating in the development and preparation of project conceptual designs; developing solutions to design problems; producing design layouts for interior space planning and FF&E; coordinating and preparing interior design documents, technical specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates and participating in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish spaces. In addition, the Interior Designer will assist Project Directors and Lead Designers with developing staffing hours, manage relationships with outside consultants and keep informed of new developments and systems in the interior design field.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to think conceptually and help develop interior architectural design strategies in direct collaboration with the architectural design team; have a commitment and passion for design, with a keen design sense and ability to connect concept through to details; be able use independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adopting interior design solutions, materials, and products; assure quality and completeness of documentation; assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination, working collaboratively on cross office teams.

Interior Design or Interior Architecture degree from accredited program. 5+ years of experience working on complex s
cience+education, corporate and health

care projects in all phases of design. Expertise in work place design and strategies. Knowledge of all aspects of design process including color and material selection, FF&E and furniture systems and specifications. Experience in 3D modeling, 3D rendering (Sketch Up, 3D Max), graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). Revit and AutoCAD capabilities. Good hand drawing skills desirable. NCIDQ certification a plus. The nature of work to be performed requires that the successful applicant be a US citizen.
