The Interior Designer plans and develops designs to execute modifications and make improvements to facilities; manages projects and provides operational support of all interior spaces and furnishings in Student Life facilities, which includes residence halls, dining commons, apartments, off-campus properties, administrative offices, and regional campus housing facilities; consults with customers to determine project scope; develops and creates programs of requirements (PORs); assesses project impact on physical facilities and spaces; develops specifications and creates drawings to prepare bid documents; prepares and administers budgets for interior design, decorating and refurnishing projects; prepares cost estimates; develops project schedules and oversees and inspects projects, requiring a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Planning or Architecture or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications
NCIDQ certificate and experience in higher education; proficient with AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with BOCA , OBBC , NEC , OMC and ADAAG and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
