If you are currently enrolled in a Computer Science or Engineering degree program and have an interest in Laboratory Automation or Robotics, and would be interested in working with top 20 Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology companies, we may have an interesting position for you.

Responsibilities: Your main responsibility will be to assist the Systems Engineer in the development, integration and testing of changes to existing product lines. These changes include Software (embedded and/or PC-based applications) as well as Electro-Mechanical modifications. The candidate would be helping to complete, verify and ship newly developed software applications, as well as to refine quality control procedures and tools to enable more efficient software testing and deployment in the future. Responsibilities will be tailored depending on the capabilities and skills of the successful candidate and may evolve throughout the duration of the internship.

The position will offer significant personal and professional development opportunities for an applicant with a strong interest in applying leading edge technologies to solving significant Life Sciences Research challenges. Although it is not required to be proficient in all the skill sets listed below, it is preferred to have exposure to as many as possible. Automated drafting tools (such as SolidWorks or ProE), Design of Experiments, Good mechanical aptitude, Integrated Software Development Environment (such as Visual Studio). You will gain practical, hands on experience of system testing. You will be given practical testing assignments, and mentored in the applications of both manual and automated tools. Through a combination of on the job training and formal instruction you will also learn about engineering change control life science businesses and the special requirements of these industries.
