Cabela's and Western Nebraska Community College are offering a Cooperative Internship Program that provides the opportunity to learn while you earn. Participants will earn an Associates Degree in Information Technology while working as an intern, under the guidance of experienced professionals, at Cabela's corporate headquarters.
WNCC's Information Technology degree provides the opportunities to acquire experience and skill in Desktop and Helpdesk support, as well as opportunity to explore Infrastructure, System Operations, Network Server, Unix, and many other IT based systems and applications. While working at Cabela's, individuals in the program of study can work in the IT department as an IT intern, which work closely with our knowledgeable and professional staff.
Cabela's is the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting and fishing gear. Qualified candidate will be customer service oriented, have an astute attention for detail, and possess a strong work ethic and desire excellence in performance.
The following skill set is preferred:
Internship will begin August 2013. Interns will attend classes from 12 to 16 hours per week and work 16 to 24 hours per week. Cost for tuition and fees, after any applicable scholarships or grants have been applied, are covered through the Internship Program. Student housing and fees for books are the student's responsibility. Within 24 to 30 months in the Cooperative Internship Program, a student can earn their Associate Degree. At completion of their program of study, individuals can apply for permanent employment at Cabela's.

WNCC requires a high school diploma, ACT/eCompass placement scores, application and acceptance into the program by Cabela's. An employment application and interview with Cabela's will determine final acceptance into the program. Academic and work performance will be reviewed at mid semester and upon completion of each semester to determine if student has met requirements to continue in the Cooperative Internship Program. Application is a two-step process.

Grade transcripts will also be requested.
