The Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for providing consultative leadership, strategic direction, design and oversight of their functional area of responsibility, which align with business goals. Programs will provide the organization with best practices and maximize results, leading to lower cost, high quality business solutions. It is typically responsible for a single, strategic function within the organization, requiring high level marketable skills. Specifically, the Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for working with the Senior Manager and/ or the Director of Internal Audit in planning and executing both the annual audit plan and the Sarbanes Oxley financial control testing and reporting process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages audit teams on various projects including SOX testing, operational and compliance audits, fraud investigations, recommending controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity, as well as special projects. Leads, arranges and organizes opening and closing meetings with local management. Reviews audit files and audit reports to ensure department standards and the International Standards for the Practice of Internal Audit are met. Works independently with specific guidance on complex issues from Senior Managers. Develops and mentors Senior and Staff Auditors. This includes assisting with setting of goals and objectives, recommending training, participating in and suggesting corrective action as necessary, and provides input on performance evaluations. Prepares audit/ project budgets including timeline and expenses prior to commencement of fieldwork. Writes audit programs and procedures as required and/ or adjusts existing processes and/ or procedures as necessary. Prepares and submits audit findings and makes recommendations to management. Maintains a fiduciary responsibility for all company assets and resources within their control. Provides advisory services to resolve technical issues related to area of expertise.
Qualifications: Masters Degree in accounting, finance, related field or a Bachelors degree with relevant certification.
Ability to travel for one to two weeks at a time away from corporate office, typically 25 percent to 35 percent of time spent in traveling to and working at locations. International travel may be required.
Professional Certifications, MBA, CPA, CIA, or other relevant certification preferred.
Typically 7 years of progressive experience in accounting within a multinational organization is preferred. 3-4 years previous management experience preferred. Global or multinational project management experience preferred. Technical expertise in Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP guidelines. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of construction and engineering services is preferred.
