ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree
and CPA or CIA.
- Five (5) years related auditing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze data and
prepare findings and reports.
- Ability to provide
recommendations for corrective actions and process improvements acting in an
- Ability to make presentations in
a closed or public forum to small or large groups.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
SALARY: Minimum $70,055 per 12 months, plus benefits.
- Experience related to accounting and
auditing of higher education entities, management information systems,
management of audit projects, and application and interpretation of state and
federal laws and regulations.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time, expiring
TRAVEL REQUIRED : Local or some out-of-town professional
SPECIAL WORKING HOURS and/or
DAYS : As needed.
RESPONSIBILITES: Responsible to the Board of Regents and President
for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls to improve
risk management, control and governance processes through internal audits of
departments and functions at all levels. Plan, execute, and manage audit
assignments in accordance with the Board approved audit plan, the framework of
College policies and procedures, and accepted quality assurance
standards. Examine and evaluate the soundness, adequacy, and application
of accounting, financial, and other operating controls at the direction of the
President. Assist personnel to effectively,
efficiently, and economically fulfill their assigned responsibilities by
providing objective analysis of activities plus provide recommendations for
discrepancies noted in reports of outside auditors and provide recommendations
for improvements. Appraise the effectiveness of policies and procedures. Report
results of examinations to the President and the Board of Regents, and
recommend corrective action where necessary.
