Contributes to audit reviews of processes, controls and systems across the business. Supports the Lead Auditor by giving assurance on, and identifying opportunities for improvement in, processes and controls.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
Assimilates information provided by the Senior Auditor from the Planning phase of the audit and completes audit planning activities as needed.
Learns about and understands the business background of the area being audited, and their role in the audit assignment.
Identifies and documents the key processes and associated controls being examined in the audit.
Provides a control and risk assessment matrix following their documentation of the systems and processes to be reviewed.
Creates a test program to check that the controls identified in the risk assessment exercise are working properly.
Performs audit testing as required.
Addresses any review points raised by the Senior Auditor review.
Drafts audit conclusions based on control and risk evaluation and associated testing and makes recommendation for remedial actions, if necessary.
Assists the Senior Auditor and Audit Manager in discussing and finalizing the findings and actions with the management responsible for the activities being audited.
Supports the Senior Auditor with reviewing evidence of delivery against recommendations through to closure.
Builds strong and effective working relationships with business colleagues, other Internal Audit staff and external auditors.
Performs other special projects or duties as assigned.
Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
PC skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn audit productivity software packages.
Ability to gather, summarize, and examine data or information and identifies implications of findings.
Must demonstrate ethical behavior.
Effective time management skills.
Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
Ability to build and cultivate strong personal relationships with peers.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to grasp issues quickly, address problems and keep management informed of issues.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in accounting, finance or economics.
Auditing experience (internal and/or external) preferred.
