Verifies records for accuracy and ensures accurate corporate financials. Ensures that the Credit Union is compliant with laws, regulations, and policies. Supports management in corrective action to ensure compliance with regulations. Responds to staff inquiries to mitigate risks and maintain optimal relations. Performs exit meetings with management and other branch personnel to discuss examination findings and provide appropriate recommendations. Performs all other duties as assigned. Implements and performs according to the established TDECU REAL standards.

1. Member Service
Meets and greets visitors, auditors, and other contacts for the Internal Auditing department as needed.
Reviews Credit Union policies and procedures to ensure that they meet regulatory criteria and makes appropriate recommendations as needed. Ensures that TDECU is in compliance with regulatory laws and Credit Union policies.
Supports management in corrective actions to ensure compliance with all regulations.
3. Internal Audit Assistance
Responds to staff inquiries to mitigate risks and maintain optimal relations.
Communicates with TDECU management on a variety of internal audit issues via e-mail, over the phone, or face to face and provides follow up to ensure that all progress needs are met efficiently.
Performs exit meetings and interviews with management and other branch personnel to discuss examination findings, provides proper recommendations, and discusses procedures.
Works effectively with the audit team and Credit Union supervisors to process any audit requests needed, discuss audit findings, and makes appropriate recommendations.
Corresponds with the VP of Internal Audit to perform audit tests and ensure adequate processing.
Assists the Internal Audit department with completion of the Audit Risk Matrix and the developing of the Audit Program Steps as requested.
Establishes and maintains audit flow charts to assist with major auditing processes.
4. Record Retention
Verifies records for accuracy and ensures accurate corporate financials.
Maintains, tracks, and documents audit forms, policies, and all other audit work performed.
5. Community Relations
Actively participates in community relations activities and groups to represent the Credit Union.
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Related Bachelor's degree or equivalent mix of education and experience required.
Plus some specialized or technical training in related field.
Three to five years auditing experience preferably with familiarity with National Credit Union Association related business and CUNA regulatory compliance training.
3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Credit Union operational processes and how to read and interpret regulatory compliance policies and laws.
Strong working knowledge of relevant computer software including advanced skill with Microsoft Office and Excel.
Substantial ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks and responsibilities.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to research and analyze various complex data sets.
