Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the requirements gathering/analysis process and project scope definition for systems initiatives
  • Performs comprehensive analyses of system concepts, designs and test requirements
  • Ensures conformance to work standards and that the technical design conforms to functional requirements
  • Applies analysis concepts, techniques, tools and standards and a solid understanding of project life cycles and methodologies and advanced knowledge of user interface design to support assigned projects
  • Researches new function and/or process enhancements to existing tools
  • Verifies and edits test data in new or existing systems
  • Tests and verifies system and database models to ensure their quality and integrity
  • Participates in continuous process refinement and improvement
  • Facilitates and addresses end-user issues regarding application usability and functionality
  • Conducts customer acceptance testing and performs post-implementation reviews
  • Recognizes and surfaces opportunities that implement cross-functional decision-making support and execution disciplines
  • Analyzes and translates business requirements into a form that can easily be understood by all audiences such as IT, various departments, and management
  • Communicates with all levels of management and staff and is a resource for senior management regarding the functioning of existing automated systems, departmental operations and interdependencies
  • Coordinates the activities of various departments to ensure the completion of the project on schedule
  • Leads teams to ensure the completion of work, timeliness of deliverables and quality control
  • Trains company employees and customers on systems usage
  • Provides technical assistance to team members, applications personnel and staff
  • Mentors other technical systems personnel
  • Maintains and enhances technology expertise, keeping current with evolving systems analysis, programming and database technology
  • Develops and manages project plans, schedules and progress
  • Prepares detailed project status reports as well as detailed testing and other documentation


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field or applicable experience.
  • 6-9 years’ experience in developing and writing clear functional business requirements required
  • Experience with application of the principles, procedures and practices of project management sufficient to act as project leader including running and conducting meetings required
  • Experience with SQL, MS Project, Visio, testing, quality assurance, quality control, and independent verification and validation techniques highly desirable
  • High level of competence with business acumen, understanding financial reporting and business requirements
