The Regional Manager manages and operates an international sales territory (geography) for all brands in the territory by developing and implementing sales strategies to maximize sales in the region through all distribution channels. Acts as Alliance’s customer liaison in all issues related to Alliance’s policies, objectives, products, pricing and promotions.
•Directly responsible for development and implementation of results oriented sales strategies in vended, on-premise-laundry and retail segments through existing or newly identified distribution channels to optimize market penetration and sales in light of local market conditions and competitive activities.
•Responsible for achieving dollar and unit objectives established by International Regional Director or Sr. International Regional Manager for assigned sales territory.
•Develops strong relationships with distributor personnel to establish a level of mutual respect and participation in strategic business practices between Alliance and the distributor. Motivates distributor sales staff to optimum performance in support of the sales of ALS company products. Coordinates and aids the company relationship with distributor relative to issues involving order desk, service, credit, logistics, RSPC, advertising, legal departments and other company staff as required by circumstances.
•Implements Company directed sales programs, promotions and strategies to achieve growth and profit plans while expanding market penetration. Supports and promotes price increases.
•Conducts on-location sales training of products and marketing strategies, promotions and policies for distributor sales management and sales force.
•Manages advertising and promotional programs to meet financial and market presence objectives of Company and the distributor. Support company strategies and in compliance with company directives relative to trademarks and cooperative advertising policies.
•Regularly evaluates performance, formally and informally, of each distributor within the assigned territory. Works to improve underperforming distributors. Evaluates potential replacement distributors to improve sales growth or market penetration and recommends distribution changes as appropriate.
•Trains distributor personnel on tools available on the intranet and extranet and makes sure distributor is using all appropriate tools.
•Explores, defines and reports to Regional Manager; market information, competition, market trends and new business opportunities.
•Monitors, evaluates and reports competitive activity in the territory; sales, advertising and promotions, pricing strategies, new products, and service, warranty and marketing practices. Communicates pertinent information to manager in a timely manner.
•Estimates and coordinates service activity between distributors and the company within assigned sales territory.
•Represents Company at trade shows and organizations within the assigned territory or at larger shows and meetings as directed by management.
•Operates within established corporate budget and reporting parameters.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Knowledge of vended and on-premise laundry industry is highly desirable.
•Mechanical aptitude with regard to machinery and equipment is also desirable.
•Ability to understand all facets of coin laundry and on-premise laundry products, corporate marketing, sales strategies, pre-sale and post sale support requirements as well as customer types, purchasing motives and allied products and applications.
2.Skills and Abilities:
•Ability to travel overnight 50% of the time.
•Excellent communication and follow up skills; ability to provide appropriate concise information on a timely basis to management and distributors; ability to give effective presentations.
•Ability to self-manage work load, deadlines and priorities effectively, take initiative and create opportunities.
•Possess effective selling techniques and a strong business sense.
•Fluent language skills in English and at least major language used within the assigned territory.
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required with minimum 4-5 years experience in sales or sales related function.
•Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
