The International Relocation Counselor Summer intern will work on the many aspects of the international household shipments relocation process under the direction of the supervisor. This includes managing the relationship with the overseas booking agent and acting as a contact for the customer in North America on behalf of the overseas booking agent. To be successful, the IRC Summer intern will need to communicate with agents, vendors, and customers to ensure total understanding of the process and procedure for international shipping, manage the profitability of the shipments, and resolve transportation issues as they arise. The IRC Summer intern must be focused on customer satisfaction and excited about and interested in learning SIRVA's unique industry.

The successful individual will employ customer service skills to learn how to:

1. Communicate proactively and build relationships with the agent, suppliers, and customers.
2. Logistics management by planning, anticipating, and ensuring the most efficient and cost effective shipment routing based on customer requirements.

3. Pricing by generating competitive, one-off rate quotes by obtaining and building Door-to-Door, Port-to-Door or Door-to-Port pricing for all aspects of the international move, inclusive of origin, trucking, freight, customs clearance and destination services through the use of internal systems (MoveManager) and external resources (3rd party vendors, agents, steamship lines, network offices, US Customs).
4. Exception Resolution by settling invoice exceptions via cost research, comparing quoted rates to invoice and tariff rates, negotiating with vendors, agent partners and network offices to settle discrepancies.
