This position is responsible for ensuring that Lionbridge provides high quality interpreters and maintains contract compliance to our clients through interpreter training and evaluation, and resolution of quality-related complaints and client issues.
This position reports directly to the Director of Operations of Lionbridge Federal and is responsible for managing the Quality Assurance Team.
More specifically,the responsibilities for this position are:
Oversee Lionbridge’s testing, training, and qualification process.
Supervise the work of employees assigned to these functions and ensure that goals are met, work is completed as required, and contract and client requirements are complied with in these areas through mentoring, metrics, and joint problem-solving.
Improve internal operational procedures to ensure that all staff adhere to established quality assurance standards, that all documentation reflects these standards, and that the Case Management System is designed to capture, manage and report required quality data.
Work closely with the Recruitment Manager to regularly make improvements to the workflow for processing new interpreters/linguists. Ensure that QA staff meets deadlines, as set forth in written workflow documents.
Work closely with Production and Recruitment to regularly re-evaluate interpreter candidate pool.
Submit regular tracking statistics and analysis, as required by customers and Director.
Participate in client-facing meetings
2+ years’ management experience
2+ years’ experience evaluating quality of interpreters and/or translator’s work and performance
Fluency or proficiency in a language in addition to English is desirable.
Experience in interpretation or translation would be helpful.
Court or Medical Interpreter Certification would be considered a plus!
Proven ability to think outside-the-box in order to generate and implement ideas to improve the quality of our interpreter vendors,within reasonable.
Prioritize team work responsibilities based on business requirements.
Ability to analyze statistics required to manage contract compliance requirements.
Good inter-departmental teambuilding skills.
Strong skills in analyzing data to make informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
Work experience in the language industry is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Word, Excel and Power Point
BS/BA in the language/linguistic field, or equivalent work experience.
