POSITION: Intervention Assistant
Assists the classroom teacher in various interventions and daily instruction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned.
Willing to attend training and implement various interventions and utilize positive behavior supports
Implement small group instruction based on student needs under direction of teacher
Follow plans to work with, motivate and engage various learners
Assemble needed materials for small group instruction or interventions
Use technology (e.g. computers, tablets, iPads) to maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
Communicate in written and verbal form with administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders
Perform recess, lunchroom and other duties as assigned
Maintain regular attendance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
(A) Completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher education which meets the requirements to obtain an EVSC substitute certificate; or (B) obtained an associate's degree (or higher); or (C) met a rigorous standard of quality and can demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics by having passed the state approved formal Para Pro Assessment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of, and in compliance with, corporation policies and state requirements.
