An Inventory Associate role exists in KIND’s Accounting department. The primary responsibility of the position is to gather documents needed to accurately track all inventory moving between our manufacturers and suppliers on a daily basis, verify that purchase orders and KIND item numbers are on all invoices, enter data into the Company’s inventory system and provide the Accounts Payable department all required documents for processing payments. This role will provide the employee the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a key position on the accounting team.
Gather and review all packing lists, bills of lading and receiving documents for both packaging materials and finished goods from manufacturers and suppliers.
Verify that purchase order and KIND item numbers are depicted on all invoices.
Audit each invoice to ensure that KIND item numbers and quantities matches the purchase order created in the Company’s inventory system.
Communicate with various members of the KIND team, especially in the operations area to rectify any reconciliation issues between manufacturer, co-packer and/3PL.
Communicate with outside warehouses and manufacturing locations to resolve missing/incorrect documentation.
Accurately input data into the inventory system on a daily basis.
Ensure all inventory is received into the inventory system for the corresponding month.
Provide invoices and all corresponding documentation to the Accounts Payable department for timely processing of payment.
Update the Accounts Payable PO system for approved invoices once completed in KIND’s inventory system.
Work with the Inventory Accountant/Analyst in completing monthly reconciliations prior to the month end close.
Review Destruction Authorizations, prior to submission, for approval
Request and review monthly expired inventory reports from 3PLs and Co- Manufacturers to reduce aging inventory on hand.
Maintain the control sheet (log) for item numbers as SKU’s are assigned.
Assist in period physical inventory audits at outside locations.
Assist the department members on various special projects that get assigned to the accounting team.
One to two years’ experience in inventory function.
Associates Degree in Business or a related field is required. Bachelors’ degree would be a strong plus.
Intermediate skills in MS Office.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work overtime hours on certain key dates during the monthly close or other times in which the departmental work load is at a high level.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner are required as this position will have a high level of exposure with both company employees and outside vendors.
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with effective communication skills and the desire to assist all members of the accounting team in any and all department tasks.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to work both independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
